Parade Ready M151 for sale!!

Postby HEPROX » Sun Mar 25, 2012 11:11 am

I hate to do this...but I need the money. Here it is, 67 chassis and engine with encore body. Miles are on the engine since a rebuild a few years ago. Also included:
Trailer
Demil M60 Machine Gun and mount with 200 dummy rounds and ATF letter
Large Camo Net (mint condition)
Side curtains and soft top
original mod trailer; I bought this trailer from the DRMO yard at Fort Stewart just like this. It was modified to secure valuables in the back.
New Batteries
Carb rebuilt
New plugs
Custom 101st Airborne/ Rakkasan Markings
ROPS Netting for front
Good Radial Tires...handle well on the road
Serious inquiries only....I will list it here for a few weeks to sell to someone who will take good care of it...OR IT IS GOING ON E PAY

I understand that and I think your unit is a great unit but the encore body does hurt the orginal value and price for alot of collectors and re-sale and I am more interested in just the M151 and not all the extras, plus that price is over my budget that the wife has given me, was hopeful that you would just price the M151 and sell the extras to someone else to get close to your asking price. If you need to talk with me please let me know and I will send you my phone number and or email address.

None of my business and I don't like to get involved in prices, but pgman1 is right about the reproduction body hurting the vehicle. I would think $10,000 is all the money in the world in this economy.

Whatever you do with it, good luck, but if you put it on eBay you'd better advertise it as what it is, an Encore reproduction M151 vehicle and not an original M151, otherwise the deal might kick back on you. Great looking 1/4 ton though. It certainly caught the eye of this dirty old paratrooper. The vehicle markings had me going to the point that I completely missed that it was an Encore! Really cool truck and very authentic looking color and markings.

OK I got the whole thing about the encore body and that is exactly what it is...if I was incorrect, so be it. I do not try to false advertise or anything else and with that being said, the chassis IS original. I do not have the experience of the people here and that is one of the reasons that I began to frequent this forum...To Learn and not to accused of falsely advertising anything else. It is fairly priced for the work that I have put into it contrary to the economy, the price of gas or the situation in Southwest Asia...I put my vehicle up here because I believed that I would receive serious inquires and nothing else...I would let the vehicle rot before I would take anything close to 10K...if this rant gets me banned so be it...that is all, carry on. When I was a paratrooper, other paratroopers always supported other paratroopers....

Heprox, I don't think Airborne Bob was being disrespectful or unsupportive of your jeep and you wanting to sell it. It is a truly nice 1/4ton. I think he was stressing the point that to many people, not meaning you by any means, attempt to put the screws to pontential buyers who dont know the first thing about jeeps. This is what gives you, me, and the others out here that are true jeepers and do our best to preserve and not destroy, a real bad name. The encore chassis and frame as you know, are all in one. The diffs might be original but the tub and chassis is not. And yes, this very much takes so much away from the value of your jeep. No disrespect here, but I, or anybody cannot take a repro tub for any vehicle and get the money for it that an original tub will bring. Otherwise, what makes something valuable, to keeps it's value? Again, you have a very, very nice jeep but you will not get what your asking for it, 19,500.00, from anybody that knows the difference. In other words, it is what it is. Good luck and keep'em rollin!

HEPROX,
It's your Jeep, and you know how much time, money, and effort you have in it. It may take you longer to sell at your asking price, but eventually, you will sell it if that is your desire. Personally, I think it's a neat Jeep.
