Found a WWII 1/4 ton Lunette for sale

Post by Beagle_Hauler » Mon Mar 19, 2012 6:31 pm

What would be a good price for the WWII era lunette? Has the small diameter shaft and seems to be in good shape, not rusty if much. No casting numbers on the shaft. Were there 'aftermarket' lunettes made that would be blank? Perhaps too much paint? Casting or part numbers should be on the halfway point of the shaft facing directly up or down when installed the proper way, correct? Thanks for any info!

SOME are marked, others appear to have no casting information on them....go to ebait and check the one on there now for an idea what they bring.

There is no "going price" due to lack of availability, and some are bringing big bucks. $75-$125 was that average 10 years ago when they were still stocked by one of the wholesalers, they are virtually extinct and can exhaust the trailer budget.

I just couldn't resist.
On a serious note, I have already posted a pic of my lunette, here it is again.
