So the other question is...how old is this shaft, here are some markings I found, paints on first leg quite strange

Appears to be 40's Chain type from what is visable of the counterweights, the paint is printed undersize reminder that the mains have been turned, looks like rods, too.

Looks like it says .030" undersized on both the rods and mains. If you ever need to replace the bearings, it's best to measure them, as sometimes the crank rebuilders get lazy and don't remove the old markings.

Did you find your build date stamped on the block's oil pan surface? Usually, it's back near the rear main cap.

no but I have not cleaned the pan yet, is it an easy to find marking?

4-14 it is ! block cast is 4-12, dod 4-20, all nice and clean
