21T-5230-B. Someone had some NOS ones for about $60 but I can''t remember who. I think it was Antique Auto Supply out of Texas.
I found a resonably close one at Fleet Farm and intend to use that.

Thanks John for the info. What part number for the muffler are you going to use from Fleet Farm. Also do the have the tail pipes that could be used.

I'm using a CM537 from IMCO exhaust (www.imcoweb.com). NOt claiming it's an exact match, but does look similar. It has 2 1/4 ends so you need a reducers to use it. The exhast pipe I'll get made by a local guy who has a bender.

Antique Auto Supply in Texas does have them in stock - just ordered one. They are $65. Their telephone is 817-275-2381.
It's often busy so you might have to call them 5 or more times to get through.
They think the muffler is for a Jeep. I tried to explain that it's called a Burma Jeep but is really a 1 1/2t cargo truck but they didn't seem to quite get that so just agree with them.

Can one of you guys post a picture of the correct muffler when you get it? I'd like to see how it compares to my "sorta close" knock-off

Thanks

Got the muffler by USPS today. Looks NOS with a bunch of minor dings, one moderate ding. Came in an original looking box with very old and dried out packaging tape so it looks original. The muffler color is a Ford civvy green which happens to be exactly the same color green my original transmission color is, (posted a photo about that in an earlier thread).
I installed the muffler and it fits perfectly in the original muffler brackets.
BTW they don't have the tailpipe. I asked them if they had any GTB numbered parts (and asked if they had any Ford GPA or GP parts too). They said they don't have any "G numbered parts".

Charlie, I found my (manifold to muffler) exhaust pipe has a 1/8" reduction at the last 2" where the muffler inlet slip on. It's kind of a sloppy fit for the muffler inlet. If I push the inlet further onto the exhaust pipe beyond the reduction it fits comfortably. I'm guessing the Fire Dept may have made this reduction to fit whatever muffler they had ?
Does your exhaust pipe have a reduction at the last 2 inches ?
