help with heat shield installation

ok i have a question , i have a gp small hex tent with a potbelly stove, i have a heat shield that gets inserted into the hole of the tent, does anyone have photos of how it looks installed into the tent.. thanks

The heat shield you have is for the small wall tent. The wall tent has an opening that the shield fits into. I'm not familiar with the GP tent but I suspect it may be a different shield.

that helps greatly the hole thats in the tent is more oval.. i have been hearing that the gp smalls some did not use a shield.. thanks again

yea with the think round ring i was wondering about that, i just thought with the heat from the pipe it would melt the so called rubber around the stovepipe opening i also seen some use cans like coffee cans to fill the hole...

This came up a long while back and you can get a matt that is used by plumbers and welders to keep heat and sparks away. I'll try to find the topic. It wraps around the pipe.

thank you guys for the help..... last question i want to put a end cap on the 4inch pipe i have seen some out there like http://www.famcomfg.com/chimney-caps-1/ ... steel.html would this be ok to use. or do you have any suggestions......
