I have used this paint on plenty of projects, it finishs really nice for a spray can product. Its really easy to do touch ups without it showing, plus is actual color matched to mil specs http://www.rapcoparts.com/mixmasppa.html

I'll second Rapco. I use them for all of my vehicles. They get the color matched perfectly, Army O.D. or Marine Corps Forest Green!

I second TM 9. I have used their gallons and love their color. Matches my NOS parts I have and would never use another brand personally. Its the toughest paint out there in my opinon and was made by a professional auto painter for the market. I have used his paint on my WC 9 and 12 and will be using it on both my USMC jeeps. I am also painting a few other vehicles that I am restoring for others with that brand and very happy with it and so have my clients.

It also comes in cans for the OD 8 shade only and only in cans for blue drab for doing hood numbers.

I can't endorse TM9. Their acrylic dissolved in gasoline spills around my gas tank and their spray cans don't work unless the user devises a homemade shim on the spray tip. The readers with the positive comments must be referring to TM9's urethane paint with which I have no experience. I have had good experience with other acrylic OD paints, however.

Just a reminder, painting a vehicle with aerosol cans results in a much inferior finish than using a the paint from a gallon can applied with a spray gun. The tww paints are chemically different.

WRONG AGAIN - the two paints are not chemically different, Mark advises that the propellant might be different - air versus gas. The paint in RAPCOs spray cans is the same as the paint in the gallonds and he fils them fresh from same supply that is the gallon cans......difference between speraygun applied and bomb can is the temperature, humidity, and surface prep plus other variables.

I'll disagree on that. Like DaninNM said, it depends on the variables in which the spray cans are used. I have achieved excellent results with Rapcos paint in the spray gun, and in the "rattle can". Applied correctly, there is no difference in appearance. Cans are also excellent for touch ups after repaires

Thanks all for your input. When I paint the truck this summer I'll be buying my paint in gallon bulk cans and using my spray equipment. For right now I am about to swap motors and I just wan't to get a couple of rattle cans so I can paint the firewall and engine compartment while the motor is out. This is a shoestring budget project so I won't have $ for paint and body work till later and this way I can do the motor and clutch now and not have to spray around my freshly painted motor later.

make sure you mask off the entire rest of the jeep with plastic wrap (the stuff from Home Depot is OK) - the overspray issue may not be apparent when you start but it can have disastrous effects when close to white stars and other white makings........statment made from experience!
