In the book Bastogne, the first 8 days there is a funny mention of a message from Col. Harper who commanded the 327th and Lt. Col. Ray allen who commanded the 3rd Battalion that went ike this
Col. Harper "How is your left ?"
Lt. Col. Allen "Good!, We have 2 jeeps out there"

If you don't mind my asking, but how do they know that this is a glider infantry jeep? Is there a clearer version of this photo, and did it come from a book?

It came from a scrap book that was downloaded on line. The caption read that it was one of 3 GIRs but it was unclear as of which 3 it was from.

Well, I recently looked through past posts and decided I want to figure out what unit that jeep belongs to once and for all! I spent a little bit on it tonight and want to continue it later!

There must be something special about that jeep to do all that research?

No, nothing special about it, I just find it interesting that what unit it belonged to is unknown at the moment. Something to do in my down time I suppose haha

Also I research the 325th GIR so naturally anything glider interests me!

I don't see how you will find out but good hunting. I was rereading the book I mentioned and it was interesting that when the Germans came to make the surrender offer at Bastogne, they were met by by members of Co. F of the 327th glider infantry.2nd battalion.
