BA, the Jack and handle look the same as those I noted above.

I don't know what else was included.

And remember the M-38CDN was contracted thru Ford. There may be differences, the road flares are a good indication.

Joe, since this is your thread, and I know you are a Willys expert I am asking from you: is there any connection between toolkits and roadflares?

Looks like the M-38 was originally specified to received a "full" set of tools from the vendor, but after testing the Pilot Models it was decided to eliminate many of the tools. Check out this paragraph from the 7 April 1950 Pilot Model Inspection Report for Truck, 1/4 Ton 4x4, Utility, M38, (Willys) Contract W-20-089-ORD-4758 by the Army.

Thanks Bob. That is EXACTLY the kind of information we needed.

I'm still curious that there was a 2nd number assigned to a tire pump for M38 at a later date. I'll try to follow up on that one.

was the US production vehicles (M38) issued "same" kits?

So, it looks like we are close to what is shown in the M38 CDN manual.

Wheel nut wrench
Jack and handle
Drain plug wrench
8" pliers
8" crescent wrench

And possibly...
Screwdriver
Tire gauge
