Need help-Fuel tank well configuration-118000

Postby marc belanger » Mon Jan 23, 2012 3:18 pm

Hi
I am in the process to install a new fuel tank well to my new floor.
By comparing some wells with friends, we may conclude (as usual)
repro parts are dufferent in size and shape...so before I install
mine, I would appreciate to compare with original one.

Is someone do have an original late slat grill well ( serial number after 118xxx)
Regards

Depending on when your repop fuel tank well was made....the LIP that is spot welded to the side of the tub has the edge bent the RIGHT way or the WRONG way:

Chuck
Great thanks...thanks to the G503..it help a lot

I have the "down" bent repro fuel tank well. However, the distance from the bent flange to the adjacent well "wall" looks to be too much...I have approx 3/4 of an inch....so once the new well installed, the wall will be far away from the body side sheet metal panel.

Could you confirm if original slat grill (late with round bottom) have the similar construction ie: 3/4 inch distance

Regards.

Further to my recent post, the actual dimension of the bend is 7/8 in. on my replacement well. This dimension looks large to me.
Can any one could validate the dimension from an original body?
Thanks for the information . Marc
