Is this a Navy configuration with single wheels at the rear? Never seen that before. Any pictures of wartime use?
Are tires different from normal tire-sizes for Jimmys?

It has what was marked on the original tires '' sand tires'' . They found that the wider single wheel tire combination worked better on the sand beaches than the narrow duals. This is also the same tire/wheel combination used on the DUKW.

There were MWO's performed on certain CCKW's, it was MWO G-508-W11 which converted CCKW's to the DUKW wheels via a kit listing the DUKW hardware involved. There were also trucks that had the DUKW wheels installed on the production line and yes, there are wartime pics of these trucks.

I believe that finding DUKW tires are a problem. A local guy bought a bunch of Gamy-Goat tires and used them. They have fewer plies, but seem to work OK on his CCKW

Gamma Goat Tires are suitable for collectors CCKW's and are about all that has been available for the past 20 years. The 11.00X 18 Tires and Wheels on this truck are unique and more valuable then a complete set of mounted 7.50X20 Tires and Wheels. Someone is going to get a great CCKW.

You really did a Beautiful job on this ole truck Mr. Steve! It don't look like the same truck that I remember. I'd love to Buy It Back from you if I wasn't in need of an M818 to pull my halftrack!! LOL. :D

Thanks Mike. I'm glad you decided to keep the half track. You know i hear John Bizal is selling a Mack NO. That half track sure would look good behind that Mack.
Also both trucks in the pics are for sale. The CCKW and the WC 52.
