Great uncles stuff

Postby bobc » Thu Nov 17, 2011 8:14 pm

My great Aunt died a while ago and my Mom went back to help clear up her estate because no one else would help, I didn't know her husband very well since we left PA back in 1976 and didn't visit very often, my dad thought he had served during WW2 but wasn't too sure what he did, while my mom was helping clean out the house she came across a bag of medals and dog tags, after some more digging she found all his discharge papers and training command certificates, he was a certified mechanic on B-17 and B-29, also had a neat picture of one of his classes taken at the Lockheed plant in CA., I'm more into the ground war events and vehicles but to be able to get some thing from a family member that served is very special.

Can you figure out where he was stationed? B-17 and B-29 would imply pacific theater.

My dad knows he was in Asia some where's but we never did find his service record, he didn't complete all his training till early in 45 so he may not have gotten over there till thing were pretty well over.
