early gpw top bow pivot

Post by Jean Georges » Fri Dec 30, 2011 11:42 pm

Hi all ,
I am in need of your knowledge and experience in order to find out if this pivot is correct for my VEP 6088
it is 3/8 unc thread for the screw pivot and 5/16 unf for the thumscrew
5/16 looks ok to me since apparently 3/8 were coming later
but the marking in the cast iron is completely different from the regular other one i have got which full original
but they were both on the jeep
thanks

I have never seen the grey colored one in the top photo.....the style in the lower photo is all I have ever found. My initial thought would be the TOP one is an early replacement...

Notice that the number "one" in the LOWER pic is an American style found on a GPW data plate and the upper pic has a European style "one" on it.
