Can you tell me the body # and the Hoodnumber, my jeep is really close to yours

Hood number: 20629880-S
Body number: 116248

Wow Really close, mine is #116732! The body was probably produced the same day at the factory.

All I have to say is..... WOW

Interesting how your wiper motor tube comes from the dash. I see a lot of holes in jeep dashes in the same location.

Have you located any unit markings on the bumpers yet?

I agree.... I have not seen that exact mod before so for me it was MOST interesting.
I have found some markings on the rear right bumber, but I belive they are post war. Looks like a letter in front of number 6.
On the front bumber it was not possible to read any markings.

Beautiful find. What i wouldn't give to have something that complete to start with.

Is it okay if I use your pictures when re-assembling mine?

My dash also has the same hole that yours does where the wiper line is coming out of. It actually came in really handy for the wiring for the suction cup mounted defroster. My dash also had a hole drilled for a switch to be mounted on the left side of the main light switch. I couldn't find any evidence of my GPW ever having had a driver side BO light so my thinking is that the two holes were drilled out for the defroster switch and wiring.

Here we go
Frank sold her Majesty to me this spring.
So, I'm not steeling the thread. I am just putting some more information in this existing since I now own her.
The engine that sits there now is a smoothe running CJ2A. Suppose there are no special interests i knowing the engine number then.

I have this matcing engine to the DOD of the jeep. It is now overhauled and ready to install.

Aren't the safety strap eyes in the position that are usually found on GPW's?

Congrats on the new jeep, I like it even if it is a Willys! Looking at the pic of the dash, what is the "key hole" looking thing?

Hi Todd :D
The "Key hole" is for the winter curtain that goes in front of the radiator.
A chain is routed through the hole (like the one used to secure the plug for your sink) and can be used to raise and lower the curtain.
Frank..

Hello "neighbor"Frank :)

This hole for the winter curtain: Is this original or is it some later modification? The reason i ask is that i have the same on my MB-45
