Today I was given a 1943 BMB made British Jerry Can.
It is rusted and in need of a new paint job.

What would have been the original color?

Sand yellow or rather green?

Thanks

Hi Johan,

I got a couple of '43 dated British jerrycans. All of them are sand yellow. One has the green color underneath.
So I would go with sand yellow.

Cheers,

I found this Jerry can in Corfu at a friends place, now it belongs to me :). It has the W^D inthe middle and not higher like all the others I have seen. Any info about it will be appreciated... :)

Akiss,
The only picture of this type W^D can that Philippe Leger shows in his book is dated 1943.

Look for a date in the area of the red circle.
