Estimate for cross county transportation

Postby The Fireman » Fri Oct 28, 2011 10:30 am

I am interested in what would be the estimated cost to ship a jeep that runs from Grants Pass, OR to North Carolina, about 3,000 miles.

Thanks,

Jim,
Thanks for the reply. I don't have a destination yet. I just wanted to get an idea of the rate for about 2500 to 3000 miles in other words from the west coast to the east coast. I have a very nice running M 38 A1 that I will be putting up for sale soon.

Thanks again,

Frank,

The more details you can give when asking for a shipping quote, the better. The pickup and dropoff locations are the most important because a shipper needs to calculate the mileage. As a collector of military vehicles, I pretty much know the weight and dimensions of them so that's not as important to me. Other people who advertise for hauling on this site may not be as knowledgable about MV's.

Email me directly if you need a quote. In the mean time, here is a link to some of the items I've hauled over the years: http://s457.photobucket.com/albums/qq292/junormaneureka/Hauling/

Thanks!

Speaking from experience .....

Experienced folks who transport know that every vehicle is different ....

Vehicle condition - modifications - pick up & drop off zip codes - time frame all are necessary to
accurately provide transport pricing
.....

Seeing as Frank has a nicely restored vehicle he might be selling - I doubt a prospective
buyer wants open transport across the country in Winter
....

Jim,

Great photos! I've heard a lot of good things about you and I've recommended people to you when I couldn't haul something.

Keep up the good work!

RGUS,

Not sure what you mean about more pain, maybe shoot me a PM if you want to show your discontent.

Just as a future reference, I've hauled many different military vehicles including: Unimog U1300L, Unimog 404, Unimog 406, Unimog 407, Volvo C303, Pinzgauer 710M, Pinzgauer 712M, Military Mules, Dodge M43 Ambulance, WWII Ambulance, Dodge Military Power Wagon, Very rare Aqua Cheetah, Many different WC's, Weasels, Mighty Mites, and just about every type of Jeep out there, also an Austin Champ...ugly thing but lots of fun!

More importantly, I have owned: (2) M1009 CUCV, M35A2C, Unimog U1300L, M422A1 Mighty Mite, M43 Ambulance, M38A1 Jeep, & an Austin Champ. I also owned up to thirty military trailers including M101's, M416's, generator trailers, light tower trailer, enclosed winch trailer, and an M117 6 ton semi trailer. I've definitely got GREEN IRON FEVER!!!

I know my military vehicles and hauling them is a piece of cake!

Mike Pop,
rgus's statement wasn't directed at you. It was in reference to my prior post which was deleted. It had nothing to do with you.
Sorry for the confusion. I'll gladly explain it via pm if asked.
Thanks,

Was wondering a ballpark figure of what one could expect to pay for transporting a running M-38 from Reading Ca. to Topeka Ks. ?
