new 12v/6v Repro Capstan winches

There are now reproduction capstan winches on the market, BUT! they are electric motor driven, instead of PTO driven. Thought this was worth a mention on the mods board.

I asked the "maker" of these winches when he first offered them here on the Gee and never got a complete answer:

How much current will they draw when in use? I mean, not only a pretty looking turning capstan head, but pulling out the jeep of mud and snow.

I've seen the reinforced alternator of a Wrangler TJ go straight to hell while trying to feed an electric winch.

I just can't imagine that the stock MB/ GPW generator, regulator and battery can take this for very long...

Anybody?

Any one had a price on these winches? Wonder if they would winch the vehicle or are they just for display.
