hotchkiss hat channels

Postby rondo » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:34 pm

I've posted this in other places and am grateful for the responses i've had. However let me throw this out to M201 experts.
I need these hats as they were rotten and gone from my junker 44GPW. I heard they can still be sourced as a M201 part. I've tried probably 18 vendors and none of them makes this. Yes i can get raw channel but i'd love to get it complete especially where it folds into the transmission tunnel. My skills are not up for that unless i'm at the end of the rope.
Can anyone tell me if these ACM1 style hat channels are still made?
btw
i've tried: DL Bensiger, army jeep parts, Ron F, Krage motorsports, john bizal, dallas auto in britain, universal jeep supplies britain, mv spares, willysacres, and many many more.

Hi Mate ... those hat channels are of the Early WILLYS style, the Hotchkiss M201 uses the later Composite and Ford body style hat channels ..

I do know some Duch Guys who reproduce the Early style Willys Hat channels . it looks like you have enough of the END sections to graft on some straight box/hat channel..

thank you ken. Who are these dutch folks?
This is not my pic. Fact is my hats are completely gone. I have the square stock to make my own but frankly i'd like to buy some ready to go in. My fab work is not good. Thanks for the info about hotchkiss jeeps using the newer style.
