The only bear about this is that Coke is a registered trade mark and selling Coke items with their logo is a No, No. I have tried and got a nasty letter from the Coca-Cola bottling company. What a pain. I figured they would love it. especially when you have to buy their product to fill the crate.

.
Sergeant Mauldin B of the 45th Division US Army confirmed that Coke reached the front.
Propaganda photographer to unknown soldier: -

"Congratulations. You're the 100th soldier who has posed with that bottle of Icey Cola. You may drink it"

Take a shufti at Bill's book P 130, where you will find the picture.
That's P30 of 'Up Front' by Bill Mauldin.
Currently for sale on Ebay for peanuts.
Should be in every re-enactor's library.

Bill told it like it was, where it was, when it was.

Sergeant Mauldin B's comment on how easy it was for America's fighting men to get a bottle of Coke to drink.

I have been working on the coke crate issue for a while and was wondering for the crates shown in this thread, was the metal banding not galvanized and made with a beading on each edge so the edge of the steel is pointing into the wood?
Also, it seems to me that there were two styles at least. The one style is as shown and the other is one using heavier wood and the corners had cleats.
I wonder if all had lids or not.
