Any information for Combat Assault Vehicle (M151A2-MOD)

Post by Joe_RCEME » Fri Nov 21, 2014 6:40 am

Hello everyone, I am in search of any information on the CAV M151-MOD. I have been researching this vehicle for some time and contacted TACOM and the Transportation Museum with little luck. We are able to figure the jeep were created in several different styles in a short period of time. I have some information on them but it is limited. A lot of what I was told was incorrect and false.

First and foremost I can confirm the Vehicle is not I repeat not a DELTA vehicle. This has been confirmed by the Delta community and will be glad to explain why. The thought is they were Ranger used or made to test them for combat but never used. I have several photos of the jeep in "Theater" (only ones known to exist as of right now) along with my jeep I have restored to the best I was able to with what is known.

Thank you anyone for the assistance.

What kind of lift if any was used to clear the bigger tires? Also, what type of wheels were used, civi steel wheels painted blac? Do you have a website with history of the vehicles? Thanks, great pics and info!

No lift kit, hack saw, cut off fenders and wheel wells and garden edging. And yes, civilian wheels.

Just the ones you see above. There were many different methods of clearing the tires, I think it kind of fell to the unit doing the mod as can be seen by the examples above. Send a PM to Austringer whom you asked bout his restoration in another thread. He did a lot of research on these. This is coming into show season so he may be hard to get hold of.
