undercarriage and suspension color

Post by afmuskie » Fri Aug 05, 2011 5:25 am

Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've been on. The restoration is going fantastic. About to paint soon, but I have no idea what the undercarriage and suspension should be painted, 24087 or flat black. Any suggestions?

Generally the A1's were green and the A2's were gloss black. I know there will be some argument but that is generally what was done. Another option for the A2 is to paint the body green underneath and the suspension parts black. Personally I like that setup as it gives some contrast without being obvious.

perfect, thats what I was thinking. Before stripping it, thats the way it was black suspension, green bottom. It did have a rubber coating on it too, was that normal? i'm guessing rust protection. I just got PCS oders to Dover AFB in October, so I will finally get to see what this Aberdeen (sp) show is all about!
