Which brackets are you talking about, internal or external?

OK, I think I know what you are asking.
The brackets shown on page 244 are the front and rear lifting brackets for the M151A2 or the M718A1. As you know that is the ambulance based on the A2 body. The rear bracket attaches to the side of the body behind the rear wheel, near the bottom. The front bracket obviouly goes on the front bumper bracket.
The M718 ambulance (based on the M151A1) did not use the same rear lifting bracket. If it was not a USMC vehicle it used only the brackets that are inside the bumperettes. I think these brackets are interchangeable with the brackets on the front bumper. These lifting eyes are also used for the trailer safety chains as only the "A2" had the chain bracket behind the pintle hook. I believe, and I am sure I will be corrected if wrong, only the USMC used the large rear corner brackets that has a lifting eye bracket welded to it. They used these on the M151A1 and M718. And lastly they used these corner brackets in conjunction with the long front bumper that has lifting eyes on the outer ends.
Did that help?
