Map Light??

Post by HEPROX » Sun Aug 09, 2009 6:01 pm

I am interested in mounting a "map light" in my 151...I had one in my vehicle in the Army, but I have no idea how to hook it up or where to get it...I think they were originally mounted inside of armor vehicles and we stole them from the tankers when I was a grunt....the have a little switch on it an they illuminate red....anyone help out???

I mounted tactical map lights from an APC in both my M151's - just as I had seen in jeeps I drove in the Army.

Passenger side dash - four drilled holes with bolts and spacers. For power I tapped into the heater blower power line. Works great.

You see them a lot at swap meets - Aberdeen, the MTA, Gilbert....

Please my friend ,

if you don't want to drill any holes in your car, take a look at this idea...

As we say here, "It is all Greek to me"! Which means I don't understand a word of what was said but the pictures say it all. That is a very nice installation.

your eyes must be going Rick, I had no trouble reading it. It said:

REPUBLISH ....
From our good old forum republish the construction of the military lamp base (Dome Light) For M151 vehicles.
The purpose of this construction is the easy installation of the standard military vehicles lamp in a M151 so that you do not have to drill holes in the dashboard.
The text and photos below.
