20 Sep, Sat: Ike's Convoy and New Oxford Liberation. A convoy of WWII vehicles will depart early in the morning to liberate the French town of Nouveau Oxford. German forces are in the area and might ambush the convoy. Our orders are to capture the town of Neauvou Oxford if occupied and secure it for Allied use. This event is in conjunction with WWII Living History Weekend at Eisenhower Farm. Please note the Park Service does require the use of original or reproduction WWII uniforms, gear, and vehicles. The convoy typically has 45-50 vehicles with about 125 troops including drivers. This year, we hope to increase the number of participants and vehicles and project to have 8 plus pieces of Allied armor versus 6-7 pieces of German armor. I've structured the convoy, ambush and liberation so that anyone who does not want to participate in the action parts can still be in the convoy and enjoy the ride. Please email me for more info.
