1942 Ford Staff Car Barn Find
I just got home with this barn find. I think it's an original Army issue car and not a humped up civilian car. The former owner thought it came from Ft Devens in Mass.
The torpedo blackout marker lights were in the trunk. It's a 6 cylinder car. It has a data plate in the engine bay on the firewall but I don't see one on the dash anywhere. The registration numbers look original, does anybody know of a data base for reg. numbers for these cars? The car has only superficial rust, no rot or rust through and a few bumps and bruises but overall not too bad. Also came with 3 NOS tires, nice for display, not to drive on! It's a nice change from Jeeps to work on something different.

one tail light on the left, the right side has knockouts on the fender but looks like it never had a light, I know back in those days most cars only needed one on the left

Re: 1942 Ford Staff Car Barn Find
In the trunk was a Ford marked oil can, 2 blackout markers and a tail light with a shroud on it. The tail light is a different type than what's on the car now, obviously meant for blackout purposes as you'd only be able to see the light from directly behind the car.
