Dec. 1944 GPW
This is my unrestored original GPW. It has a second paint job that was probably put on late in the war as it's semi-gloss. You can see the original paint under the windshield seal area and where the old repaint is coming off.
Jeep has original Air corps markings. All numbers match. Had to put on a new front bumper to replace the Bubba tow bumper.
Motor has some issues that need to be resolved, so the prior owner has taken some things off in anticipation of doing the work, that's why you see some things removed.
That's my Nov 20th 1944 Willys sitting next to it. Also a great survivor that runs and drives perfectly (just doesn't stop well..) and is all numbers correct as verified by Lloyd White. Didn't know if this forum is for Jeeps that weren't OD any more so I didn't post pics of that one.
The '41 Dodge Command Car in the background, which I bought like you see it, is due for a paint job in the future to remove the incorrect markings and and install the right wheels, just in case anyone is wondering.

Steve,
NICE
That looks like a great potential for a validation of thoughts on many aspects of late GPW's Things like what kind of nuts are holding the gas tank straps. 1 nut and then a stamped locknut Sots of those little things that are the difference between a 98% and a 100%

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll try to get some underhood shots in the next day or so.
Luca,
Glad to see you remembered that thread from quite aways back. It would be nice to start seeing Jeep restorations done with the same attention to those details where appropriate. Whoops, don't get me started on that topic again.......

Did you buy the jeep from Rob Gordon? If so, you got a GREAT deal on it. I believe it is the one I sold for him.... anyway, Great Pics!

...and that's my (old) unrestored Schlitz carton and... my (old) NOS MP billy club on the windshield...
What can I say... Steve has good taste!
On a somewhat more serious note: Does that (obviously original) FRAM oil filter have the drain plug on the outer side??? It's usually on the same side as the INLET... right?
We'll have to take that off and inspect it closer next Tuesday Steve...

From What Rob said, it had been used in Hollywood in the oictures for years. Could the laquor look in the paint be from age? Is the engine grey at all?
