MB 424534
Hello all, I recently purchased my 1945 MB #424534. Found it on Craigslist in New York after a lengthy search. The body and frame are what you would expect from new england. It has a CJ-2A engine but It retains its original transmission and transfer case. I have 3 out of 5 combat rims, this will be a long term restoration that I will be undertaking. I will post pics as often as I can. Thanks!

Couple pictures...
When I picked up the jeep it had a really horrible aluminum top on it.
I made quick work of removing the top when I got the jeep home...

Heres where I am right now. I got the bubba plow frame removed and found some serious frame issues that I will have to address. The tub is really rough but I will be saving as much original sheet metal as possible.

Not a bad looking MB. All that rust and damage can be repaired. I would highly recommend that you restore your original tub rather than going the easy route and buying a reproduction tub for it. Can you please post a photo of the nomenclature plate and your frame serial number tag?
I look forward to seeing some photos as your project progresses!

The original Tub is getting restored. My intention is to keep as much of the original Jeep as possible. I will get some pictures of the data plates and frame tag asap, thankfully they match!Michael O. wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2017 11:28 amNot a bad looking MB. All that rust and damage can be repaired. Re: MB 424534
Further frame triage. I think both front horns will need to be replaced from the crossmember forward. They have been cracked and re-welded and are pretty much junk. Can anyone recommend someone in the Connecticut/Rhode Island area that does quality welding and repairs? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
