Tarp find....not barn :-)

Post by Frank » Fri Feb 03, 2017 2:34 pm

Thanks to Svenn for the tip.

Located this jeep 2 hr drive North of Oslo. Had been out for a year acc to the prev owner.....well to me it looked more like 10 :-)

I ended up buying it and hauled it home. Looks like a late Willys MB chassie With a ACM II body s/n 164250
Used a pressure washer and got some of the yellow Paint off :o
The engine was partly taken appart so I expected it to be some troubble there, and YES it was :-) Lots of ICE and rust :D Cylinder size 020 so there is hope 8) Intake manifold was full of ice.
Thanks to the heated garage I got it out after a few hr 8)

Great find! Doesn't look too rusty for a jeep that sat outside in the snow. Here, you'd have enough holes in the floorboards to run Flintstones-style!

Interesting windscreen frame. It has curved tubing on the bottom to follow the outer cowl curve, instead of straight tubing with formed sheet metal gussets to replicate the curve.
Great find, though.

Interesting new "find" category--"Tarp Find".
Is it true real Jeeps have flat fenders?
Alone cannot you it resist!
