Ford GPW 218392 restauration

Post by marco.verhaag » Sun Feb 23, 2014 1:54 am

Hello,

My name is Marco Verhaag from the Netherlands and i recently bought a GPW frame 218392 and acm 2 body 96438. I am planning to fully restaure this to a fully working jeep which memorates the liberation of Europe.
This jeep originates from the north of France. There iT had been overhauled La Maltournee and been given number 35169. Anybody who van help me with the history from body and frame numbers?
I know i have a long way to go, but i don't want to hurry. Lucky i recently met Some KTR friends in the north of Holland (Friesland) who helpt me with a front and rear axle.

I'm sure that Tom here on the G has all the information about your GPW pertaining to date of manufacture, and military hood number it had when it left the factory.
