After searching additional posts I found an explanation of "VEP" = Very Early Production.
Thank you Fabrizio for the definition.

My newly acquired 42 Ford GPW (Prescott AZ Hanger Queen).
Frame SN: 48728
Engine SN: 514875
Believe that the engine is not original but is a replacement GPW Engine based on the serial number. I have already started to put her back in original shape. Will do a frame off restoration after I finish my 47 A2 Restoration.

Nice GPW! Your GPW would not be considered "VEP" though, as your frame SN is far outside of the VEP window. VEP's only go up to approximately SN 15000. The engine block looks to be from an MB. Grind away a bit more paint to be sure, but from what I can see there is a MB hiding under the paint before the numbers.

Don’t use a grinder. Use a wire brush!

GPW 4841 now reached Germany.
After being build in San f. And discovered in Washington State proberbly the first time in her life.
Rough in shape but a beauty for the infected.

It will take years to collect the missing things for a factory rebuild. Focus for now is bringing her back on the road.

Pictures will follow.

All the best

I'm a long time browser first time poster. I've recently acquired GPW 6735 with a matching engine and chassis number. No idea on a date of delivery or it's original serial number as it is missing it's data plates and is in need of a full restoration.

6735 now resides in the UK having been exported from Texas.

Cheers, Nick

1945 Willys MB

Hello,

It appears that much like the Slat Grill serial number list, this list has not been updated since 2010 .

Could the moderator please update the list with all the new entries to further keep the Jeep knowledge base going and thriving ??

Could another member volunteer to help do updates ?

Maybe that is what is needed on some of these lists,

It makes no sense that the master list has been frozen in time, and no list updates have been done for multiple years , although many G503ers have added great numbers from their early Ford jeeps.

This is the best Jeep website in the world for us all, and we, the members, really need to keep it updated and active !!

Any thoughts ?

Best Regards,

Ray
