Does it appear that piece of metal has been pieced together and welded in?

Re: Mind puzzling early vin number on Ford frame
Hi Tom and all,
Can you tell me the ARN if you have it for 5804 please Tom- I checked and I havent transcribed it yet so cant search my database (though i did find a Bantam trailer SN 5804!!!, alas i get distracted.)
It is likely that GPW 5804 entered Australia as a rebuild and pending engine number it entered here with, could mean the original GPW engine 5804 was left stateside during the rebuild and therefore open the possibility of that engine making its way to europe/russia/anywhere any number of ways.
That said, i couldnt even have a guess at how many Australian jeeps (like all countries) have been sent overseas to collectors, so it is possible that it did end up in europe/Russia/anywhere post war!
Ian.
