Blank Tail, Stop/Marker light Doors??

Postby jag » Tue Jan 17, 2012 6:04 am

Folks, just confirming the details re VEP GPW tail and stop/marker lights. I understand they were made by Guide and marked on the body of the lights however, the doors were blank. Only later did the Guide name appear on the lower side of the doors. Can someone confirm or correct this perception? thanks,

That's my understanding, which made light doors easier to find. You can simply fill the embossing in with JB Weld, sand smooth, prime and paint. Not that I did that or anything! :)

Hall was a supplier for Ford before the war and there are HALL LAMP marked grill BO light doors. I think HALL LAMP made them for VEP GPWs and then removed their marking and put the script "F" on later versions. I have not noticed GUIDE buckets/doors on VEP or mid production GPWs.
