You have a series one GP. A rough gauge of what GP is 1st or second series is if you have a 4 digit or 5 digit serial number. 1st series GP has 1 hood block in the middle forward edge of the hood. You also should have 1st series seats which have no reinforcing ribs on the seat back. Example GP8501 to 9999 are 1st series. GP 141555 thru 166666 are second series. The numbers given are for example only. I had GP 8524 which had 1 hood block, I also had GP 15141 which had 2 hood blocks. Also 2nd series GPs would have black out marker lights and tail lights like standard WW2 jeeps. Best wishes; Leo

Guess there isn't a hood for me in that story. :P I have two hood blocks on a second series hood. The way the hinges are riveted and the hood hold downs are fastened is another give away. I don't have photos because my jeep is parked looking to become a "barn find" for someone someday. I would like to have them find it with a correct hood on it though. :?
