Olav Holst's Ford GP
The picture was taken 2/25/17 in front of King Kamehameha’s statue in Honolulu. My jeep is GP 15581. King Kamehameha united the Hawaiian Islands and created the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Thank you Ron, Jimmy, Brad, Norm, Leo, Brian, Bruce, Sandy, Robbie and so many more who gladly helped me with this almost nine year project. I am very grateful and happy to see a cool piece of American History saved from the scrap heap. I have had some great reactions to her from the public.
Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa,
Olav

Re: Olav Holst's Ford GP
Congrats on that fine looking GP. It would be an award winner I believe.
Olav, I was over there last September and found this photo in the FT. DeRussy museum. I knew there were GP's in Hawaii in early '41 but had little proof. There was the one parked in front of Schofield Barracks (poor photo) and now this one. Maybe there are more. Just need to search over there some more I guess.

Re: Olav Holst's Ford GP
Thanks David, yes that is a cool photo. Jimmy Strauss brought that to my attention when he was visiting here. I was happy to see it because until then I had only seen one photo of a GP in pre-war Hawaii. The photo I have is in a Pearl Harbor Survivor's book that has a GP parked in front of some Dodge VCs at Schofield Barracks. There seem to be a few more MA photos in pre-war Hawaii than GPs and BRCs. If any one has any GP or other prototype photos from Hawaii I would enjoy seeing them and I am sure the rest of the G would to.
Thanks again David, come visit and we can cruise through Waikiki in GP 15581.
aloha,
Olav
