MA water pump

Postby Ladislav » Sat Mar 24, 2012 4:21 am

Hello,

what water pump was used on MA engines? The pump with the "small facet" or without? In the TM there is pictured pump with the "facet" like on MB Slat and MB. Is that correct or the picture is overtaken from other TM? :?

MA and MB Water Pump Part Number is WO-639992 and Willys used the same Part Number thru the CJ-3A, however, the configuration did change when manufactured for later Jeeps due to the addition of different size threaded holes for bypass and heater connections.

David Doyle's excellent book "Pre Standardized Jeep" Pages 72 and 73 has several color photos showing the detail of the MA waterpump.
This book is a MUST!

Attached are some photos of our MA water pump. The casting number on the pump body is 637052. This pump body was used on Willys cars from 1939 to 1941, the MA, and MB.

Thanks George,

do you know the water pump without "Facet" on the top of body. Some people mean in CZ, this is the correct one for MA...
