While I am convinced that most if not all WWII respray jobs ( official or not so official) were done without any major disassembly ( leaving an O.D. or Forrest green undercarriage ) I was told that many afterwar rebuilds implied black paint on chassis: maybe at that time also differently coloured upholstery could have been fitted?
One jeep restored as a Navy jeep, with black undercarriage, can be seen on AAW. I am afraid that quite a few collectors in Europe restored their jeep as supposed Navy Jeeps following that AAW pattern, not considering it would most likely portray a post war livery.
