I found a photo of a USMC jeep fitted with Chevron tread
tires in a book about the Korean War. I am wondering if
this type tire might have been specialy ordered or was
in use because of the shortage of tires during the first
stages of the war.

Pre- and early WW2 mv's often had a chevron tread tire maybe this one in the picture was just old stock finally being used.
