Robin,

Can you send me the measurements for the antenna box, dynamotor box, battery boxes and radio cabinets? I got a local shop here who will make them, they just need measurements and a bunch of photos!

Mark,

I picked up this dynamotor. What do you think? Is it correct, will it work? Think it says PE-86G

No, you have a flyboy Dynamotor...

http://www.propellor.tv/C47%20communications.html

I gave you a list up a few posts along with the TCS manuals. You need to do a little research so you can tell the correct stuff.

Here is a photo of the most common... a COL-21881.

Here is a later one that can use 12v or 24v, the COL-211330. This one had its final inspection on 3-20-1945 and was sealed NIB.

Hahahahaha! It was $12, so I figured what the heck, lol! At the time I found it, I didn't have anything to reference it.

But as far as the body, she is in the shop getting all welded up. We should have a new floor next week.

Today, we took the tub to the shop to have the rusted sections cut out, and new ones fabricated, and replaced. At first we used a plasma cutter to cut the tub, but we found out we can do it a little better with a cutting wheel. We ended up using the plasma cutter to cut the peices we needed. We used and argon wire feed welder to weld the new patch panels into place.

Mike, cutting the rusted sections out.

While the plasma cutter works well, we think we just need a little more practice.

Mike, going over the last bit. Came out quite well.

We started on the rear, but after 8 hrs, we called it quits. It will take us quite a while to fix this mess.

Lots of Military duty has put this on hold :( So she still looks like a pile of parts, and needs a few parts. Our floor deal we had lined up fell through, so no floor for her anytime soon.

Anyone know how to bench test the radios and where to get the cables? :|

Well after a lot of learning and many man hours, TONS OF WELDING! The MZ-2 is finally coming together. This jeep was definitely a learning process. Many hours studying photos and referencing JeepDraw to get all of the correct part colors and making sure that there are no missing parts has been tedious work.

Here are some photos of the progress. As you can tell, some parts are not painted yet. This was to allow time to research the correct color before selecting a paint, like the coil bracket, which to find out is black. The last few are of the tub, stripped and ready for a massive overhaul.

As you can see, the tub is in horrible shape.

One thing that I just noticed was the Floor Drains, of which I was under the impression that this wasa Ford GPW thing unless I am mistaken?
