That is my MZ-1 tub and I can't remember and will look tomorrow and let you know as it is too late tonight.

I looked this morning... the holes are not used so I thru the photo up on the Tech board with no results.

You all know my memory is poor but I did research those holes back when I restored my tub, so I put 2 and 2 together and looked at the only explanation that I could remember, they were for cable clamps. I confirmed this by looking at the early tub (MB-NOM-12 and early MZ-1) that installed the power supply in the offside box and routed the cables around the back of the rear seat box as shown in the plan view, Drawing 121 on page 506 of Volume 2 of Lloyd's book.

Farrell , as your MZ-2 did not put the power supply in the offside box your tub was never equipped with those holes.

I must admit is was very tight behind that box and I see now one reason they installed those wood spacers under the box... to give clearance for the clamp fasteners.

So if I understand correctly, they moved the power supply from the right side cabinet to the rear seat box on the MZ-2?

I don't have these holes on my MZ-2, and was a little puzzled.

I need to get Lloyd's book, as it sounds like it has some good info.

Farrell:

Lloyd's Volume 2 of "The Evolution of the Willys-Overland MB Jeep" has virtually all the information and many of the documents Mark and I have collected over the past decade on Navy/USMC radio jeeps from 1942 to 1949. That information was updated earlier this year to be current as of the June 2014 publication date. There is no better nor more concentrated data on the WW II Navy/USMC radio jeeps than the 246 pages devoted to them in Lloyd's Volume 2.

Recent Tower Park acquisitions. J-45 leg key, MP-37 antenna base cover and NOS brown Autolite rotor. Also picked up a few other things but they are MIA in a box somewhere.......

Farrell:

That's the way to keep chipping away at that big rectangular block of neck leather, and before you know it you will have liberated a complete MZ-2 radio jeep. :D :D

Lol! I know it seems like mouse bites at a time. At times it is. I've actually got a rather large find for this jeep, I've been waiting for it to arrive to post it here. A find I'm quite proud of, quite frankly.

I finally got around to ordering Lloyd White's Vol. 2. Can't wait to see it!

On the MZ-2 glove box data tag, in the field left blank for Supply Arm or Service, is it supposed to be stamped NAVY? If so, does anyone have a photo of such an example?

Mark,

That's exactly what I was looking for. Is Lloyd's glove box door one you based yours off of? Does it have the mounting brackets spot welded to the back?

Robin did mine using his original!

Lloyd's was missing the bottom brackets.
