CJV35U Gas Tank

Guys, I need a Gas Tank for my CJV35U. This is the tank that has the small indention in the right side to clear the generator that sits between the seats.

I will like to have one in any condition from great shape to completly rusted out. If need be I can cut out the area where the indention is and graft it into another tank.

BTT - I am still looking for the correct gas tank for the CJV35U. I would consider any condition of tank. Workable condition or a rust bucket, it doesn't matter.....

Punch in CJV-35/U in the search box. Punch on Collection of Surviving CJV-35/U jeeps. Do down to serial # 10963 and you will see a picture of the tank showing the indent for the generator and cast mount. Looks very similar to the late war indent on my May 28, 1945 Ford GPW tank. The tank is just a CJ-3a standard with the addition of a vent line connection added on the top near where the gas gauge float mounts and of course, the indent.

Here is a picture of the CJV-35U gas tank. Notice the small indention in the right side. I need a complete tank or a rust bucket tank that I could cut out the indention and graft it into my tank.

I appreciate any leads that you guys can give....

There was a cjv35u at a junk yard near by and it had the gas tank, it might still be in it? I will check in the next few days. If it there are you willing to pay tyhe cost they charge me for the tank and shipping? I just dont want to be out of pocket on it?

I have a good used fuel tank from a 1952 CJ-3B, will look first chance I get to see if it is stamped correctly.
