I wonder how soon or when the US Air Force will take this from Reilly for their museum.

Did the Air Force ever get the P-82 from Texas (I believe) in the lawsuit?

It seems like this aircraft is being put together from parts that were sold off by the Gov as Scrap or surplus so they shoulden't be able to take it back in the same way that they can take back an aircraft or item that they loaned to a museum or individual.

Yes, anyone considering recovering a wrecked warbird must jump though all the goverment paperwork first.
Then the paperwotk for the "host" country if outside the US.
The NAVY took a few recovered aircraft that did not have the paperwork done.
The old "frankensteins' monster"syndrome, once you wake it up................
In aviaiton school, we had to scrap several restorable aircraft that the military donated for training, as they could not be resold afterwards.
Darryl Greenemyer built and flew a F-104 from scrap parts! (Then crashed it with a NAVY loaner J79 engine!)
