Keep your eyes peeled for the return of the Blue Max Triplane from the film industry.

It is undergoing restoration, and was seen in Chino California this past Spring as a static. The photo is as it was in Spring.
This is the oldest surviving triplane in the world, being the first replica built.
No originals survive(for the few of you that may not know that), since bombing in WWII destroyed the only Fokker examples left, sadly.

Remember seeing Blue Max many years ago. Was very into WW1 aviation at the time. Wrote a thesis on the death of Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron.

Great to see that this replica is being saved. We have a keen WW1 aviation fan here in Sweden, Mikael Carlsson. He's built, among others, a superb replica Fokker Dreidecker (Photo from Mikaels web site):

Mikael has also built a Fokker DVII, with an original engine, which hasn't flown yet, but it will fly soon I'm sure (Photo from Mikaels web site):

You'll find Mikaels web page here: http://www.aerodrome.se/index.php?optio ... 7&Itemid=1

Peter Jackson, the film director, is also a keen (Very keen) WW1 flying buff.

The Blue Max triplane looks like Snoopy won the fight that time.

I thought there was a planned Red Baron film in the works? Anyhow they would still probably find some way to mess it up.

Mad Max is a Mel Gibson end of the world type movie. The Blue Max is a WWI movie. 8)
