Maybe I'm confused on which is which but here are some pictures of what I had to do to get a M142 short pintle to lock in the mounts on my M114. The top groove (closest to the gun cradle) is the original location for the short pintle and the one just below is the correct location for the locking groove that works on the M114 mount. All my M23 mounts fit and lock in the mount the way they are, as well as an earlier M142 mount I have that has a longer pintle.Ben Dover wrote:I have to dissagree. I machined a counterbore in the end of the existing pintle and used a bolt to attach the new locking area. Since the load is carried on the large bearing journal, this modification will not affect the overall strength of the pintle.
