Tony,

if you see a new carb make f****** sure it's the right zenith 29 as many you see are for searchlights and have bigger jets and won't run an M8 efficiently.

A G136 marked kit is a better way or there are places in the CONUS that still do Zenith carb parts

I just listed a major and minor kit number on the M20/M8 Crossover Chart thread but these are old kits for the M3A1 Scout Car. I ordered these kits from Gary Hebding for my M20 and this is what he sent. If anybody has tried these parts in a G136/176 with success, let us know and it might help tonypearson in his search.

These particular kits are supposed to be used together for a complete overhaul. I don't know if all kits are set up the same way. These aren't for sale but if anyone wants to know what parts are in them by Ordnance, Hygrade, or Zenith number, I have them.

If I can find my Zenith Carb. book, I believe it lists all the different orifice diameters of parts used in Model 29 carbs, by its part number. (The disk attached to the top of the carb has the numbers) It would be interesting to look up M8/M20 Model 29 oriface sizes to compare to M3A1 Scout oriface sizes. So post them numbers and I'll look for my manual.

Good one for a new post so we don't clog this one. I have a 1944 manual so might as well do the project. I'll also ask people to post what model 29 they have - the numbers on the disc. It will be interesting to see what numbers are being used.

The carb disk numbers, should / will be the same as the numbers in your Ordnance 9 Part Manual for your vehicle.

Only if it is the correct carb. Let's continue this later on another thread.
