"Yes it is the same style as Michael Caine rode in A Bridge To Far. It will be the only Humber Scout Car in the US and is one of a few in private hands in the world.... It was partially restored with another Humber by the Dutch military over a 2 year period.

Pics for your enjoyment...

Haven't driven her yet  I am here in the sandbox, so hopefully we will be home about the same time, depending on the form 6, and yes she does love me. So much in fact that I am looking for a Dingo. Figured I would put my hard earned money back into vehicles and armor and not the stock market.. "She supports me on this, lucky me....previously it was get rid of those vehicles", now that she sees the market on MV's and how they hold their value and increase, she doesn't think I am stupid anymore, well not about my militaria collection and vehicles... :D

Mark was telling me about it at the last MVPA meeting, it looks good. To bad you are still waiting on the paper work, it would have been neat to see it at WWII Weekend next week.

Some pics of the HSC in the USA, currently it is getting a engine rebuild and having the wiring redone. Also some of the internal brackets/fittings are being manufactured and redone (commanders seat) some map pockets, sten mag holders etc, along with some engine compartment fittings for tyre pump, oil can brackets etc. Will get a proper respray in correct British Olive Drab, I also found some proper British tyres in Canada that will be fitted...Hopefully it will be out spring 2011..

Well those that know about my Humber Scout and the issues it had after its 1st restoration overseas... is almost finished from its new restoration!!!! close to 2 years later.... Found tons of issues wrong with the first restoration (fuel, mechanical and electrical) and wanted to make correct bins and interior parts..plus had to source parts from overseas and find the correct manuals.

After it arrived..Radiator fluid was leaking, thought I had a bad block, head was never honed and was uneven, fixed that, but most of the head bolts were stripped and loose and you couldn't torque the head down good enough, so leaked bad...

Engine is back from the shop with balanced crank shaft and an internal steam cleaning, new pistons and rings, gaskets etc. The interior goodies that were missing for the CES kit and engine compartment equipment has been located or painstakenly reproduced.

Work done...by my mechs at MVRS, especially John...

Make box on near side escape hatch (first aid kit and 5 sten mags)
Move extinguisher bracket to drivers side bin (late 44)
Replace mirrors with proper ones
Install correct Lucas horn and bracket
Install proper metal tubing for radiator overflow to POW can
Install oil can bracket engine comp 1/2 pint
Make oil can bracket for 1 quart
Make and Install foot pump holder in engine comp
Make and Install white convoy plate on muffler
Move convoy light to near side rear for night driving
Move and install 1 more canteen bracket on off side escape hatch with handle
Install webbing to bren drum holders
Fix commanders chair and add cable/handle to raise lower
Install map pocket on near side wall
Install stops on top sliding doors
Fix grenade box holders
Fix 4 wheel drive handle
Install cover over 4 wheel drive canvas cover
Install correct gauges
Repaint in correct color
Repaint interior
Get knob for off side rear control box area (generator high switch)
New radiator
Redo wiring
Redo spark plug wires
New tyres
Install smatchet
Install wire cutters
Fix (R) side bren holder
Repaint engine compartment
Pics for your enjoyment at current stage: http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r...view=slideshow

This is a really cool vehicle, cudos to you for all the work & $ you've put into it!

One question, did the Brits paint the interiors of their armored vehicles silver in WWII, or was that a post war thing? (Or am I wrong about the whole thing?)
