G503 Military Vehicle Message Forums

Hey!
It's like being the first person through the door at a grand opening event! Out of all the Pinz's my personal favorite is the 712M I like that compared to most 6X6s it small and unique looking compared to any other MV or civilian vehicle out there. Since Ron put up the Mog page I'm starting to "jones" again for one of those machines The Mog is unbeatable off road but, if your like me and you like to drive your MV and it sees more black top than dirt a Pinzgauer is the better choice as it has better "on road features" ie: safty belts, turn signals,fuel guage easier to get in and out of and over all a little bit peppier on the road speed I know a Mog can be up dated with most of the above items but a Pinz comes with them straight out of the box. Man, now I'm really jonez'n! any body want to buy an M151A1 project?

Thanks man! I was begining to think I fell down a well Those are some nice pics which makes you the first one to post pictures on this page! Is your Pinz a diesel 716? (or is that 718?) I can't remember which is the diesel 4X4 and which is the diesel 6X6.

710, 712 are 4x4 and 6x6 gassers, and the 716 and 718 are 4x4 & 6x6 Turbo Diesel Pinzes, respectively.

I guess your a Pinz fan as well? I mostly post up on the M151 board as that's what I currently own an M151A1. But, I dabble on a couple of other boards as well .

I've been lurking here for a couple of years now... keeping my eye open for that MV I can't live without. I'm a long time Land Rover fan, currently with a LR 101 Vampire. I've had Pinzgauer 710 and 712.. still have the Haflinger and 716 above....and currently waiting for a 1300L Mog.Maybe, someday, I 'll get that CVRT I wanted.

If you goto http://www.eurotruck-importers.com and click on the sales page then goto the pinzgauer page and there you will find the brief history of and specs for the Styre-Puch Pinzgauer. That will probably tell you what you want to know.

Pinzgauers are made in your neck of the woods.

They were made in Austria, and the rights to make the TD models were bought by the distributor in the UK, and the plant was moved to the UK. A few months back, ATL ( the UK company) was bought by Stewart & Stevenson, a US manufacturer of military vehicle ( and I believe own the rights to all North American military sales of G Wagons). The G Wagon was also developed and manufactured in the SDP plant, after they stop the manufacture of the Haflinger..

With a low in sales during the 80's and 90's, Pinzgauers are now making decent sales to Commonweath countries and the the Mid-East. The British army have several deployed in the Mid East also.
