Unimog 404 Question
I have been considering purchasing a Unimog 404 and would like some pointers for someone unfamiliar with these vehicles. I have an M38, M38A1 and once owned an M37 so I am familiar with military vehicles just not the Unimog. If anyone could give me some tips on what to look for and about how much I would expect to pay for a decent Unimog with minimal issues I would appreciate it.

Re: Unimog 404 Question
I used to have a 404.114 Funkwagen (radio truck)
I imported it directly from the yards in Germany. I got a good truck.
the ones I've seen out and about, around here, haven't been as nice.
lots of "bubba" factor, which is sad.
look for rust/rot around the cab and battery box.
the ones I've seen for sale here, run $6,500 +
much more than they cost 10 years ago.
they are not very fuel efficient, they are slow and noisy.
but they will take you where ever you want to go.
I miss mine, but selling it got me into a better situation
if i get another mog, it'll be a 406
trying to think of things to tell you is a bit of a stretch, I'd be happy to try and answer any specific questions you have.
