Need a block for a 1945 MB

Post by tikifrei » Tue Jan 16, 2018 5:30 pm

I’m looking for a block for my Feb 15th 1945 MB. Serial number is 417064. Any help is appreciated. I would like something in the appropriate range if possible. I am on the East Coast.

Thanks

Eric

I have this MB block, but not sure of date. Was told at one time that it was a late war block (MB-301761). Can one tell from the serial number if this is 1945 production? I guess there is a date on the bottom somewhere, but I haven't looked:

Well, drug out the block and looks like 7-29-43 casting date:

I have MB 511195 that would be for sale. Cleaned up the bottom of the block, but can't seem to find the casting date though. Complete motor that someone started to take apart. Standard bore.
In Colorado.

The good.....I have MB block #560531.
The good.....I think that matches up almost perfectly
The good.....In Ohio
The bad.............Pistons are very stuck, I was going to try to unstick them but haven't done it. It would take some careful work.

I haven't taken the pan off to see the date stamp.
