David,

Did you catch this one Brent is selling? Sure is pretty and something you don't find available NOS every day.

David, did you end up buying one from Brent?

It appears that I posted the wrong information--isn't a Script GPW supposed to have a Tobe before July 1942?

David, I believe the Tobe 1107G was phased out by July 1942. I once owned a May 1942 GPW and it did have a Tobe 1007G installed, but that is not considered the norm. As you know, Ford used up existing parts before switching over. With several assembly plants you can see how the change over dates aren't always easy to nail down. If you have a June '42 GPW you can be very safe installing the GPW tagged Sprague JX17.

The boxed NOS GPW tagged JX17's Brent was selling were very nice. I only wish he didn't cut open the boxes.

If I know what the part is I generally leave it in the box unopened, especially Ford tagged boxes. My parts shelf is full of unopened boxes but to me this is more desirable.

Anyway, I have a used GPW Sprague JX17 I'm willing to part with now that I have an NOS example. If your interested lend me a PM.
