FS : M3A1 Scout Car fully restored - Price Drop

Post by Harley » Thu Dec 22, 2016 3:12 pm

I love this scout car, but it is time for someone else to enjoy. This scout car was originally restored by Lee Hutchins about 10 years ago. It is a fantastic restore, with lots of accessories. I have had it in storage for about 7-8 years, bringing it out to clean up, get the fluids warm, etc. I went through the process of selling almost a year ago with an overseas buyer, but the customs export can become problematic (which i do not want to deal with).

Price Firm : $55,000
Domestic buyer only
Location: Southern California (Santa Clarita)

Many pictures, Drives well, and all Radio's/accessories/manuals included. Below are some of the pictures...

That’s a steal. It would cost much much more to buy one and restore it to this cars level than the asking price. Many many hard to find parts and even shielded ignition wiring.

In 2010 I was restoring a Lot 2 and Lot 5, and I had the help of folks in Oroville and Paradise, CA. They introduced me to Mr. Hutchins and I was allowed to see this SC in his garage. I thought the SC had been prepared for an inspection or parade! Every detail had been considered from the armament, the equipment and the vehicle itself. It was beyond museum quality and very inspirational in my restorations. (which never achieved the caliber of this SC) I hope that the current owner has maintained this SC to the standards that I observed, and if so I can verify that the cost of restoring a SC to this standard far exceeds the current asking price.

A lot of goodies come with it for sure, do you also have the engine oil pan armor?

That was in 2016. Prices have gone up since then. IMHO that would be a great deal at 75K now days.
