Generator Bearing cover
Looking for the rear bearing cover plate for a GPW generator (GEG5002)? The mid style with no oiler ports

Re: Generator Bearing cover
Rob....are you looking for a FORD marked Commutator Head or just the round bearing cover with three screw holes in it?

Re: Generator Bearing cover
Mike,
AS far as I can tell those NOS covers being advertised are not for a GPW. The holes are evenly spaced for the one on Ebay and the holes on my generator are not. The pictures I've seen on the G show the cover as a Dome shape. The one on the listing is not a dome, I'd describe that one more like a 'top hat' style . This link should show the style I need, on the left in the picture

Re: Generator Bearing cover
From size and shape of the data tag, it is definitely a Ford, but the only stamping I could make out was the 'GPW ' model. I can add that the bearing looks like a 'sealed ' type since I see no ball bearings. So I'm thinking the dome type cover , with the three uneven spaced holes is correct.

Re: Generator Bearing cover
My apologies, I didn't look closely enough at the auction photo.....but yes, you are correct...not the type you need for your GPW generator. Again, my apologies.
